Last weekend we took a road trip for Eric's Uncle Kim's funeral. It was a really great memorial service and we are grateful that we were able to go. Funerals are always such reflective experiences - and this one was beautifully rainy with tender words were expressed not only about this great man, but also about the grand perspective of the gospel of Jesus Christ and eternal life. We loved being with Eric's family and aunts & uncles, and cousins I've never met! Sadly, we didn't get any pictures though! Somebody send us some, please.
Also, a highlight to the trip was visiting our good friends the Tennysons! They used to live in our ward in El Segundo, and have since moved to this big beautiful house near the Temple. Kalem was excited to see his 'buddy-since-birth', Jacob. They had so much fun (but not as much as their mommies).
Neighbor dogs behind bars.
This is what they used to do back in the Gundo...Tour the neighborhood in this sweet ride.
Wrestling Dads. (Happy Father's Day to them, by the way!) We got to hang with Kacey in his cool AC/DC pjs.
Eating meals together.
Running in circles.

By the time the trip was over, Kalem was exhausted and does not want to get into a car until he gets his drivers' licence. It was a quick visit but a LONG trip! We really wish we could've stayed longer and seen more of our friends and family out there, but maybe next time. Over and out.

Looks like Kalem had a good time with his pal. He is so cute and starting to look like a toddler! Aren't you glad you don't have to sit in a restraining seat like that when you go on long road trips? Kalem is a trooper! Looks like you had fun though!
And after this you locked him in the car? Maybe that was a tender mercy to have him fall asleep.
