Introducing Kalem E. Baird

After much anticipation our boy has arrived.
He was born at 1:40pm and weighed 7lbs 8.6oz and was 19inches long.

Dilated to a ten, our nurse could see his crown and pointed it out. We could see some small peach fuzz and at first thought he had a lot of black hair. When Dr. Mendoza arrived Chelise only had to push a couple of times before he popped right out and was caught. She clamped the cord and I got to do the cut. He was free from mom in a warm new world, wondering what had just happened. His cry was but a faint waahhh. He didn’t cry but twice and since then we’ve noticed he’s certainly not a cry baby. He does sleep a lot and I had the pleasure of sleeping last night for a few hours with him on my chest. He is so precious.

Since then he’s been pricked, poked, measured, and circumcised. He has begun to suck and mom is doing a great job supplying him with the nourishment he needs. Chelise could not be happier and we are enjoying our time together with the new member of our family.

Wow! He's beautiful! We are so happy for the two of you. I'm a little jealous that you look so good Chelise. It sounds like the labor part wasn't too bad when compared to quite a crazy pregnancy. We love you and hope you continue to do well.
